Q Fairway

One of our families in the 100% program is the Gwandela family, consisting of single mother Leena, daughter Lisa and son Xolisa. Last time we were there, we noticed that their fridge door could not be close. It was not working good anyway, says Xolisa. In Khayelitesha unemployed people gets a little money for electricity each month. This old fridge wasted all the energy away very fast.  We decided to help!

We asked the Q Scramble Senior Champions "GT-gänget" (Georg, Åke, Arne & Agne) if they wanted to give the family Gwandela a new, energy efficient fridge. They were thrilled by the idea because they had visited the family in 2013.  So we bought a new frigde at a reduced price, (Thank's "Game", a South African electronic store) and transport it to the township. Guess if Leena went crazy? :-)
